SPANISH PRESCHOOL LEAD INSTRUCTOR – OAKLAND, CA:
Instruct preschool-aged children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed in a private bilingual day care center. Establish and enforce rules for maintaining order. Assist in the design and implementation of creative educational programs in Spanish for preschool-aged children. Provide a variety of materials and resources for children to explore, manipulate, and use, both in learning activities and in imaginative play. Provide a safe and nurturing environment conducive to the growth and development of children. Teach basic skills, such as color, shape, number and letter recognition, personal hygiene, and social skills. Observe and evaluate children’s performance, behavior, social development, and physical health. Assist in developing lesson plans and demonstrating activities for literacy and language development. Ensure the teaching of basic skills in classroom while maintaining motivation and interest. Read books to small groups. Encourage among other teachers kinesthetic and visual approach to make lessons interesting and interactive. Maintain classroom appearance and décor. Organize and label materials and display students’ work in a manner appropriate for their ages and perceptual skills. Plan and supervise class projects, field trips, visits by guests, or any other experiential activities. Maintain enforcement of rules for behavior and procedures in the classroom on a regular basis. Keep parents informed, communicating with parents about their child’s daily behavior and activities, prepare projects and educational activities for the day, and writing weekly lesson plans. Utilize a variety of observation tools to assess children’s needs and progress and communicate same with their families. Maintain written plans. Participate in staff meetings.
Applicant must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field (or its U.S. equivalent). At least one year of experience teaching children required. Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail are required. Must be creative, energetic, positive, and open-minded. Must have the ability to work with staff, students, parents, etc. Must have experience in planning, designing and implementing educational programs and NLP Practice. Applicant must have native or near-native proficiency in Spanish. Must be able to work under pressure while dealing with conflicts and challenges. No license required.
