KSS Immersion Schools: Director of School Operations. Brittany

Director of School Operations
Oakland, CA

“As a biracial and bilingual educator, I appreciate the opportunities that an immersion preschool experience gives children. I enjoy putting my organizational and educational skills to work in order to develop a program that is based on high standards and best practices in the field of early education.”

As the Director of School Operations, Brittany works with the directors and teachers to plan a curriculum that honors and supports the developmental continuum of the preschool years and that celebrates the experiences and interests of young students and their families. She has been working in Early Childhood Education for 15 years in many capacities: as a teacher, owner/operator of a home childcare center, and most recently as a Director at one of the top preschool programs in Oakland, Duck’s Nest. She is also the parent of KSS alumni who graduated from the Oakland KSS campus in 2012.

Brittany is a true believer in the power of language immersion, and her passion is early childhood education.  She considers it a privilege to work with young children, families, and early care and education professionals, and she is excited to put her skills to use in support of the amazing KSS program, teachers and directors.

Her primary focus will be leveraging her experience and skills to support our site directors in running their schools more effectively and efficiently: ensuring solid teamwork and resource support, effective parent communication, and most importantly adherence to and enhancement of curriculum/safety/classroom management standards.

Combining quality early childhood education with a Spanish immersion program gives our students a leg up in their education and their lives.

For the parents that value multilingualism - beginning their child's formal learning with an immersion preschool is a natural fit.

Not only does the knowledge of another languages help to keep the cultural heritage of the family alive, it also helps to provide the preschooler with advantages later in life. No doubt that being fluent in more than one language provides personal and professional opportunities in the future.

There are many benefits of multilingualism and we are so very proud to be a part of that for all our amazing students.
