Director Of KSS Preschool In Walnut Creek California

Director of Admissions

As the Director of Admissions for KSS Immersion Schools and a KSS Preschool alum parent, Brittany knows first hand the benefits of the KSS Spanish immersion program. For her, preserving heritage language was top priority when choosing her daughter’s Early Childhood Education experience. Additionally, Brittany feels that the outcomes of having an immersive language experience in the early years go beyond speaking another language.

Brittany attended Mills College where she earned her B.A. in Child Development with a minor in Women’s Studies. She has worked in education, predominantly in Early Childhood, for over 17 years. Her career started as the owner/operator of an in home daycare. She then went on to teach in preschool classrooms in Bay Area schools before moving into administrative positions. Brittany started working at KSS in 2019 as the Director of School Operations, then left the company briefly, and returned in her current role as Director of Admissions.

When not working, Brittany volunteers as a Board member of Camp Common Ground and also volunteers once a week at Oakland Animal Services with cats. She enjoys reading, crafting, going outside, and traveling to see her family in Jalisco, México.

Combining a quality early childhood education with a Spanish immersion program gives our students a leg up in their education and their lives. For parents who value multilingualism – beginning their child's formal learning with an immersion preschool is a natural fit. During this time, children’s brains are hard-wired for language learning and pick it up naturally. Bilingual children expand their awareness of the world and gain significant cognitive benefits. For students from Spanish-speaking homes, a Spanish-immersion education helps keep the family’s cultural heritage alive. There are many benefits of multilingualism and we are proud to support our students on their journey.
